Host Hotels & Resorts Inc. lowered it outlook for fourth-quarter and full-year comparable hotel revenue per available room Tuesday, citing softening economic conditions. The lodging industry has been pressured as consumers continue to tighten spending due to the ongoing housing slowdown, diminishing credit, rising food costs and recession worries. Host Hotels, a lodging real estate investment trust, also said it was pulling its remaining 2008 forecasts, which include those for funds from operations and earnings.
