…Or If Rezidor's Not There, Try Germany | Ah-ha, you might have thought as your ring of Rezidor’s doorbell went unanswered, I will intercept those gadabouts on their return from Mozambique. Sadly, you thought wrong. Rezidor is not coming straight home from Maputo: it has arranged a stopover in Germany. The company has landed on the Baltic coast, in Stralsund, where before the year is out the Radisson Hotel, Stralsund will have opened. The 114-room hotel is part of the leisure centre HanseDom.
Two More For The Italian Garden Inn Club | Hilton Hotels Corporation has opened two more of its Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Italy, bringing the number of hotels with that brand in the country to five. The new arrivals are the 207-room Hilton Garden Inn Milan Malpensa, on which Hilton signed a franchise with Airport Hotel, and the 152-room Hilton Garden Inn Bologna San Lazzaro, which stands in the northern city of Bologna. Hilton signed the franchise agreement on this hotel with Dimatour.
Four Points At Two Points In Saudi Arabia | Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Al Hokair Group are to open three hotels together in Saudi Arabia under the auspices of a long-term management agreement. First to open, in early 2010, will be the Four Points by Sheraton Mall of Arabia, a 300-room hotel near the Mall of Arabia shopping complex in the city of Jeddah, on the shores of the Red Sea. Around a year later, on the opposing shore of the Gulf, the 236-room Four Points by Sheraton Dhahran will be opening in the city of Dhahran. The country’s capital does not miss out; Riyadh will welcome the 225-room Aloft Riyadh in early 2011.
Flybe Hoping To Be Cleared For Take-Off | Flybe, the low-cost airline, is reported to be planning to build a 160-room hotel and an aircrew training centre at Exeter International Airport on the outskirts of the city of Exeter, in southwest England. The project, which is set to cost a reported £30 million, will be developed by a third party. If planning approval is given, then the properties will open in March 2010.
Dolce And Wyndham Hotel Group Appoint Chief Executives | What, you might wonder, is the connection between Wyndham Hotel Group and Dolce Hotels and Resorts? Well, how about Steven Rudnitsky. He left his post as president and chief executive of Wyndham earlier this year and on 8 December he will be installed in the corresponding position at Dolce. Rudnitsky’s empty chair at Wyndham will be filled on 1 December by Eric Danziger, lately the chief executive of online firm WhiteFence but before that a man steeped in the hotel industry. Indeed, Danziger was president of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts in the early to mid 1990s.
