When it first opened in 1999, money alone couldn’t gain you entry to The Yellowstone Club, a private ski retreat for the uber-rich. To be a member of "Private Powder," as it was called, you’d have to pass a "sniff test." Now less than a decade later the millionaire-only club that counts Former Vice President Dan Quayle and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates among its 340 members has been forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. According to a statement released to The Associated Press, The Yellowstone Club has been unable to secure financing arrangements with its creditors and bondholders. It plans to reorganize its finances and emerge from bankruptcy “as soon as possible.”
