Banff, Alberta – As Vacations Canada TV closes a very successful pilot season, Canada’s first travel television network is turning its attention to promoting distinctive vacations in Canada in 2009.

Vacations Canada TV boasted a stellar pilot season winning the 2008 Alberta Pride Alto Award from Travel Alberta and a Web Design Award from CoolhomePages.com. The site also reached a milestone of over 300,000 episodes viewed!

In 2009 Vacations Canada TV will see a new interface with the ability for comments and reviews on the site, tagging and more vacation package content. Episodes highlight Canadian Rockies vacations, from exploring Banff Village to train rides through the Canadian Rockies. Relevant Canadian vacation packages are paired with each episode—making travel planning easier.

In 2008, a Spanish version of the site was developed in 2008 and development is already progress with the Canadian Tourism Commission to translate into different languages for 2009, including Japanese & Korean.

According to Rob Hughes, manager of e-strategies for Brewster Inc., “The successes of Vacation Canada TV’s first year reflect the increasing popularity of rich-media travel planning content. In 2009, we look forward to growing the network content on Canadian Rockies vacations and expanding into more international markets.”
