Hong Kong | Restolingua announce the signature of a marketing contract with The Northern Office. The contract signing took place on February 1, 2009. The Northern Office, an independent sales and marketing consultancy will assist in the marketing, sales and distribution of Restolingua's products and services.

There is an increasing need for multilingual communication between the hotel/catering company and its customers. The ever expanding and varying product range offered by a restaurant owner calls for a tool by which the menu can be updated professionally and more frequently in several languages. In addition, displaying dish and menu prices in different currencies is often appreciated. Translating and printing a daily menu using a professional layout is often a time consuming and costly occupation.

RESTOLINGUA was created by and with professionals from the hotel and catering business in cooperation with linguists, hotel schools and programmers to solve these problems. It can be used to simply edit a menu, room service menu, wine list or price list in one language whilst outputting the menu in a number of different languages (German, English, American, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Japanese and soon Chinese). The easy to use interface, the basic layout and formatting functions included in the software will allows users to make professional menus within minutes.

The extensive RESTOLINGUA database containing over 23,000 items in eight languages allows users to translate menus by simply defining the composition of each dish. Also included are common expressions such as opening days, etc., which can be used as headers, footers or titles for a professionally edited menu.

Renowned chefs and professionals from the hotel, restaurant, catering and culinary training industries such as the Disciples Escoffier and European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools (AEHT) have endorsed Restolingua’s restaurant menu translator.

Under the signed agreement, The Northern Office will concentrate on marketing Restolingua’s products to developing tourist markets such as Russia, China and Africa as well as consolidating the current subscription bases in Europe and the US. In addition, The Northern Office will be assisting Restolingua in expanding the languages available on its system to include Chinese, Korean, Arabic and Russian.

Mr. Paul Van den Heuvel, Director of RESTOLINGUA stated, “The hospitality industry is a worldwide business – our product reflects that and by joining forces with The Northern Office we are able to have a marketing plan that has the worldwide reach that we require.”
