Singapore to have a second ibis hotel ibis Singapore Novena
The hotel, owned by Cockpit International, will consist of 241 guest rooms and “its all about TASTE” Restaurant – a signature dining concept of ibis hotels. Cockpit International have had an association with the ibis hotel brand since 1997 when they acquired ibis London Earls Court.
Michael Issenberg – Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, Accor Asia Pacific says ‘we are delighted in announcing the development of the second ibis hotel for Singapore. As one of the worlds largest economy hotel brands, this new ibis hotel in Singapore will benefit from strong international brand recognition and fills a void of quality, affordable accommodation in the economy market segment”.
Managing Director of Cockpit International – Teo Kok Woon said ‘Accor brings the technical expertise that we sought for the hotel development bringing significant value in construction expertise, distribution and daily hotel operations. Our experience as owners of the ibis London Earls Court reassures us of our decision to appoint Accor as managers of the hotel and that ibis is the ideal brand for the hotel.
Work has commenced on the project which is due for completion in 2011.
The ibis network has over 800 hotels in 40 countries globally. In the Asia Pacific region, Accor has currently 61 ibis hotels in operation with approximately 100 hotels under development.
