Washington, D.C. | The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) will host a Webinar, Bedbugs 101, on Wednesday, April 29, guiding hoteliers on how to most effectively prevent an outbreak of this pest, and how to handle one if it should occur.

Greg Baumann, vice president of technical services at the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), will share some basics on bedbugs, including what managers can do to prepare for infestations; how to handle guests during an outbreak; and how to set expectations for hoteliers working with a pest management company.

Sponsored by American Express, the cost of the Webinar is $99 for AH&LA members and $199 for nonmembers. The Webinar will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. EST, and registration must be received by April 24. For more information and to register, click here.

NPMA estimates there has been an increase in bed bugs in America over the last several years, and that education, awareness, and vigilance are critical. A trained and knowledgeable staff is one of the best lines of defense, along with having regular pest control inspections. In addition to this Webinar, AH&LA and its Educational Institute (EI) offer a variety of resources for hoteliers to effectively combat this pest.
