Mövenpick, SynXis, protel and Rebag: the art of connection
The mission: Test and implement an interface to SynXis RedX to protel property management systems used at Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts. The Team: An internationally mixed crew of selected experts from the involved companies: Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Switzerland, and Germany, protel hotelsoftware, Germany, Rebag Data, Switzerland and SynXis, United Staates and Netherlands.
By successfully completing their joint project the four companies have demonstrated once again not only their professional expertise but also their versatility and talent for cooperation in running a multinational project. Under the direction of Thomas Nievergelt, Director of Business Applications and Processes at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, the entire project including several testing phases was successfully finished within only five weeks.
The three project stages were marked by a "hand-in-glove" cooperation: SynXis prepared the RedX interface in order to establish a connection to the protel hotelsoftware. protel and Rebag Data installed protel's SynXis interface in each of the Mövenpick properties and handled the basic settings. Finally each hotel matched their own individual data.
Project manager Thomas Nievergelt, Director of Business Applications and Processes, expressed his perfect satisfaction when the project performed a precision landing: "Mission accomplished! Since the cutover all elements are just running fine: thousands of reservations are pushed seamlessly to protel databases. The transfer quality is excellent. Congratulations to the project team who made it happen and thanks a lot for their great assistance!"
With the connection to SynXis Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has improved its global sales strategy for 19 properties in Germany and Switzerland. The SynXis RedX reservation system processes reservation requests of GDS and IDS, call centers as well as web booking engines in an equally effective way: all requests are collected, prepared and then transmitted to the connected hotels. In the hotel, the request is received and processed by the protel hotel management system: According to the availability protel then sends back a reservation confirmation or a failure message.
