2009 marks the centenary of both the Lincoln Cent and the Strand Palace Hotel. The Strand Palace Hotel has always had close ties with America and to celebrate this special friendship the hotel will be offering US citizens who book online at www.strandpalacehotel.co.uk before 30th June a special rate starting from £85 for a Club Single and £130 for a Club Double. Guests will have to quote 'Lincoln Strand' when booking and deliver a Lincoln Cent to the hotel when they check in.
David MacRae, general manager of the Strand Palace Hotel, explains: " Over the years we have been well loved by our American guests and we wanted to make this centenary year a bit special for America too. If anyone has any Strand Palace memorabilia - especially from World War Two, when the hotel was used as an official US rest and recuperation residence, we would really love to see it.
