ATLANTA – Continuing the boutique brand's global rollout, Hotel Indigo today announced the opening of the Hotel Indigo Toronto Airport and plans for its third Canadian property in Vancouver, British Columbia, which will open just in time for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Hotel Indigo Ottawa opened in February 2007 as the brand's first property in Canada.

Recognized as the cultural, entertainment and financial capital of Canada, Toronto provides a dynamic and vibrant backdrop for Hotel Indigo. Uniquely designed to reflect the local culture, character and geography of the surrounding area, the 120-room hotel gives business travelers an immediate sense of the city's scale through the use of oversized and interpretive photographic murals that expose the architectural detail found within the Toronto skyline.

The Hotel Indigo Toronto is located minutes from the Toronto Pearson International Airport as well as several major corporate offices, including Air Canada, Colgate-Palmolive, Boeing Toronto Ltd. and Hewlett-Packard. In addition to immediate access to an international gateway, business travelers are only 15 minutes from the heart of downtown Toronto, home to an array of entertainment from restaurants and concert venues to art galleries, museums and performing art centers.

"With the opening of the Hotel Indigo Toronto, we can now offer business travelers a unique and refreshing boutique experience along with all the benefits, reliability and accessibility that they've come to expect from a branded hotel," said Gopal Rao, regional vice president, Canada, IHG. "We know our guests will appreciate the style, design and service of Hotel Indigo as it provides such a dramatic contrast to the existing market."

Hotel Indigo Toronto features inviting guestrooms with plush bedding, hard-surface flooring with area rugs, a spa-inspired bath experience, and complimentary high-speed Internet access in guestrooms and public spaces. Additionally, the hotel has almost 2,000 square feet of meeting space for business functions and special events, a 24-hour business center, a sauna and indoor swimming pool, and a well-equipped fitness studio.

Dining options include Phi on the Fly, which serves Starbucks coffee and traditional morning favorites with a twist, and Phi Bar and Bistro, a casual gourmet bistro and full-service bar.

The Hotel Indigo Toronto Airport is owned by 1542543 Ontario, Inc., and managed by Sunny Hospitality under a license agreement with IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), [LON: IHG, NYSE:IHG (ADRs)], the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms.

"We are aggressively working towards increasing Hotel Indigo's global footprint and presence in high-barrier capital and secondary cities," said Janis Cannon, vice president, global brand management, Hotel Indigo. "With the opening of Hotel Indigo in Toronto - one of the world's most culturally diverse cities - coupled with the property in Vancouver opening before the 2010 Winter Olympics, we have an enormous opportunity to showcase the brand to a truly global audience."

Set to open in advance of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 153-room Hotel Indigo is located in Vancouver's upscale West Side neighborhood just steps from City Hall, fine dining, shopping and entertainment. The hotel features 42 spacious corner suites with panorama views of mountains and the Pacific Ocean and is owned by Plaza 500 Hotels Ltd.

Meeting the desires of today's traveler, Hotel Indigo is an upscale boutique brand that delivers a refreshing and inviting guest experience that is truly reflective of the local community. From the locally-inspired murals to the seasonal renewal program where the images, music, scent, and menu items change four times a year, Hotel Indigo gives guests a vibrant, engaging and genuine boutique experience.

With the addition of Hotel Indigo Toronto there are currently 27 Hotel Indigo properties open worldwide and more than 60 hotels under development, either in the pipeline or in final negotiation. By the end of 2009, Hotel Indigo will almost double its footprint in the Americas by opening properties in New York City, San Diego, St. Louis, and Miami Beach.
