Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) and the Glion Institute of Higher Education announced today the graduation of 23 students from their new Revenue Management program, a part of the Glion’s overall Masters of Business Administration degree.

The one of a kind program allows Glion’s graduate students the opportunity to work directly with Marriott’s renowned global revenue management team, and gain real, day to day analysis and strategy experience. The program offers a tailored academic curriculum, coupled with real-time hotel experience, designed to mimic a career in the service industry.

“Marriott is thrilled by the success of this specialized Revenue Management program,” said Sheryl Freedman, director of international revenue management and talent development. “We at Marriott understand the value of helping develop young talent in the hospitality work force. We are committed to offering real-world experience to the students of Glion, in order to inspire their careers in the industry,” she continued.

“Given the ever-changing world of travel, opportunities to work in specialized areas of the hotel industry are developing like never before. We are delighted to work closely with Marriott to offer our students this unique opportunity, said David Horrigan, director of marketing curriculum for Glion and for the Center of Marketing Excellence in Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management.

The revenue management focused program, which accounts for one full semester of the overall MBA program, includes three components: research, market strategy, and communication strategy. Research content includes data collection, market segmentation, industry segmentation and internal auditing. The market strategy content portion covers inventory management, revenue analysis, market revenue strategy, and evaluation and reporting. Finally, the communication strategy segment provides organizational and consumer strategies for the development and management of brands.

The students, representing 15 different countries, are scheduled to participate in a graduation ceremony at Glion Institute in Switzerland on June 6th.
