More than 45 Marriott International sales and operations leaders from across Mexico convened in Mexico City last week to address travel recovery efforts in the wake of the recent H1N1 virus. The group included executives from the Caribbean & Latin America region, as well as general managers and sales leaders representing every Marriott International hotel in Mexico. The group spent the week conducting team working sessions, meeting with local tourism leaders, and spending time with local Mexican customers to better understand their needs.

"With 18 hotels across six hotel brands in Mexico, we recognize the importance of Mexico as a premier business and leisure destination, and a key source market," said John Licence, vice president of sales and marketing for Marriott International in the Caribbean & Latin America. "We are here this week to reinforce our commitment to this great country, and to find ways to work together, across all disciplines, to encourage a rebound in travel," he continued.

The meeting served as the official kick-off of a multi-functional plan designed to build business both within and to Mexico, across all customer segments.
