West Paces Hotel Group Asia, developer of the ultra-luxury Capella Hotels and Resorts brand, and Bangkok-based Country Group Company, Ltd., today announced plans for a prestigious new property along the banks of the famous Chao Phraya River, in Bangkok. The new hotel, to be known as Capella Bangkok, is scheduled for completion in 4th quarter, 2013.

Capella Bangkok will be part of a new mixed-use development along the river that features two hotels and a residential tower. The Capella hotel tower consists of 100 rooms and a series of riverfront villas, all offering exceptional views of the Chao Phraya River. All guestrooms and suites in the hotel tower will have magnificent sky gardens and spacious outdoor salas. Capella Bangkok will also include two gourmet restaurants, an exquisite bar, a 900sqm Auriga spa, a ballroom opening out to magnificent views of the river and an inviting outdoor pool surrounded by lush tropical landscaping.

The development will also include 350 well-appointed Capella Residences housed in an iconically designed 64-storey tower. Residents will enjoy full access to the world-class amenities and bespoke services provided by Capella Bangkok. A Residence Club will also be available to all residents and it will include a Library, Club Lounge, and spacious meeting and function rooms.

The announcement of Capella Bangkok comes amidst a series of international openings for the Capella Hotels and Resorts brand, led by legendary hotelier Horst Schulze, who steered The Ritz-Carlton brand to prominence during his 20-year tenure there.

In Singapore, Capella Hotels and Resorts opened Capella Singapore on March 30, 2009 – an architectural masterpiece by Foster + Partners, London set amidst 30 acres of rolling terrain. In February, 2009, the brand opened its first U.S. resort, Capella Telluride. Additionally, Capella Hotels and Resorts opened Capella Ixtapa in December, 2008 and plans two additional resort openings in Mexico over the course of the next six months. In Japan, Capella Hotels and Resorts will open Capella Niseko, designed by famed Tadao Ando, on the island of Hokkaido in 2011.
