Green initiatives can pay off with bookings

Some hoteliers’ who are tracking their green and sustainable marketing initiatives are finding their green messages are paying off with increased bookings. At the same time, some hoteliers with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification and sustainable practices are having difficulty marketing those positive, green attributes in a difficult economy. Properties that group all their sustainability efforts and programs together on one simple page or leaflet are experiencing the best results. Green hoteliers who educate their guests about how they can implement sustainable practices at home and those who tailor their green messages to specific groups also are profiting.
