For a couple of years now, Scandic has been consciously working to reposition the brand and improve the sensory experience at the hotels. As part of this work, a new post has been created, with Ulrika Kjellström Attar recently taking up the role of Manager Brand Experience.

“We’ve launched Scandic’s vision with a hit song, we have a long-term partnership with Jamie Oliver and we’ve published our own book along with the world’s best known travel guide Time Out,” explains Thomas Engelhart, Senior VP Commercial Operations. “Over the next few years, we’re opening new hotels at central addresses in cities such as Oslo, Hamburg and Berlin. Without doubt, the Scandic brand has developed immensely and focusing even more on the experience of hotels by creating a new post, Manager Brand Experience, is an important step forward. Ulrika Kjellström Attar enhances Scandic’s commercial team with her experience of international design projects and storytelling.”

Ulrika has a solid background in market communication and design, for instance as European PR manager for Bang & Olufsen and project manager at Design House Stockholm. At Scandic, she will be working on projects concerning the experience at hotels, including the team members’ new uniforms, in-room entertainment and new concepts. An important part of her job will be to create inspiring stories concerning the new hotels and to work actively with the storytelling aspects of design and the hotel experience.

“Scandic is a company with firmly established values that is now taking a focused look at modernising and refreshing the brand, while also growing in several markets at the same time. This is an incredibly exciting challenge that I’m looking forward to being involved in,” states Ulrika Kjellström Attar, the new Manager Brand Experience at Scandic.
