At the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) 2009 today, SAFLOK launches a wall-mounted RFID lock reader at booth #2902.

This reader can be placed on the wall instead of on the door, eliminating the need for lock trim and minimizing the impact on the hotel's decor. It is ideal for hotels and resorts that place an emphasis on minimalist design.

According to Kerry Hirschy, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Kaba Lodging Systems, "As design considerations continue to have an increasing impact on the decision-making process for selecting locks, SAFLOK has taken a more stylized approach to security."

He notes that the same sophisticated features and benefits such as the ability to log 5,900 entries and the high-security encryption that is common to SAFLOK locks are all part of this new package.

According to Kerry Hirschy, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Kaba Lodging Systems, "We have taken proven SAFLOK technology and innovation and given it a new style." This product joins the list of company's design-centric product offerings such as the Quantum™ sectional trim lock and the highly-acclaimed Odyssey™ lock which has two design patents attributed to it.

SAFLOK also premiers a new enhancement to its existing RFID remote control unit (RCU) reader that allows it to read RF signals from behind non-metallic surfaces allowing the unit to be concealed behind glass, and other opaque materials. Hirschy adds, "This advanced feature makes the same powerful security available to guests in a less obtrusive manner."
