NFS Hospitality are excited to announce a number of new resort clients who have adopted their range of Hotel, F&B and Banqueting solutions in the UK and internationally.

NFS' complete solution for hotels and resorts was recently implemented by West Lodge Park, in Hertfordshire, UK. The property, part of Beales Hotel Group, is situated in 35 acres of green belt land and offers wonderful views, open space and an arboretum. West Lodge also offers fabulous Food & Beverage and Banqueting facilities and is a popular wedding venue. NFS' roomMaster 2000 Property Management System, which includes an integrated Point of Sale module, was deployed in response to the need for a more integrated approach to hotel and F&B management.

David McIntyre, West Lodge's Front of House Manager, and part of the team who selected roomMaster to replace a legacy solution, says roomMaster was chosen primarily for its ease of use. "At a practical level roomMaster has the functionality required to run a resort property," he says, "and after six months I find some of its features invaluable."

McIntyre has already seen a number of improvements from using the new system, such as more in-depth reporting – especially for sales and forecasts; faster check-in / check-out; and automatic booking confirmation - which is much quicker than when this was performed manually.

Recognising the strong Conference & Banqueting business of this special hotel in the Beales Group, West Lodge plan to implement Rendezvous, NFS' integrated Conference & Banqueting module, in the near future. Rendezvous is already used by many resort hotels with a significant weddings business, such as St Giles Hotel, in central London, and Manor of Groves
Golf & Country Club
in Hertfordshire.

Food & Beverage is increasingly an important component of a hotel's revenue. The Mogford Group, created by Jeremy Mogford, the well-known restaurateur and hospitality operator, have adopted a range of NFS solutions for their two independent hotels in Oxford, the Old Bank and the Old Parsonage, each with a distinctive restaurant offering.

At their flagship restaurant operation, the Quod Brasserie and Bar, which is part of the Old Bank hotel, NFS' Aloha EPOS solution has been implemented with full integration to roomMaster PMS, so diners can post charges directly to their hotel bill.

Alasdair Burn, Restaurant Manager at the Old Parsonage, comments, "We are saving a lot of time. I can do my rotas, my costings and my wage forecasts very easily." He adds that the wireless handheld device, included in the Aloha solution, proves ideal for serving on the terrace as staff have more time to deal with customers. "It releases us to spend more time with customers," he says. " That's what we all want to do."

In addition to Hotel, F&B and Banqueting Management, a large number of NFS clients have now adopted online, commission-free, web-based bookings. According to Adrian Sellens, Product Manager at NFS, "Our web-based booking engine is now generating significant revenue for our clients, as for many, online bookings have increased to over 30% of total reservations."

Further afield, NFS have some major new implementations in South Africa, such as Hunters Rest, a sub-tropical paradise beautifully situated in the foothills of the Magaliesberg, just half an hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria. This 6,000-hectare resort boasts many facilities that help to make it one of the most sought after destinations in the country for family holidays, conferences, business trips or country weddings.

Hunters Rest selected roomMaster 2000 property management software to replace an ageing DOS program. Being a busy resort, they needed to update to a faster and feature-rich software. After evaluating multiple products, Hunters Rest decided on roomMaster for itscomprehensive rate management, group management, ability to manage debtors as well as extensive reports.

Another new resort client in that region is Shelley Point Lodge and Spa, set amongst the silvery white sands of its own private peninsula, 150km from Cape Town. White granite rocks, a cobalt sea and bright fishing boats greet the guest on arrival. The resort offers visitors aSpa & Wellness Centre, a gym, a range of restaurants and bars,a Teen Entertainment Centre and facilities for golf, tennis and bowling.

Shelley Point selected roomMaster 2000 because their parent, Queensgate Hotel Group, benefits from the PMS at all its other properties. Shelley Point had a very outdated property management system that failed to meet their needs.Since implementation of roomMaster, the property has experienced a very smooth booking process, can run daily audits, and benefits from all the reports available within the solution. roomMaster is kept up to datewith the online update feature, so the property continually runs on the latest version.
