The Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne will welcome on the 28th and 29th of January 2010 students from six international hospitality schools from all around the world in order to exchange ideas and compete in a friendly manner. This event, the Young Hoteliers Summit, is organized by EHL students in collaboration with the Jumeirah Group.

The Young Hotelier Summit (YHS), a project initiated by Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) students, will be held on January 28th & 29th 2010 with the aim of broadening the communication with other international hotel schools. The Hong Kong Polytechnic, the Emirates Academy (United Arab Emirates), Université de la Sagesse (Lebanon), Breda NHTV (Netherlands), IHM-A (India) and Rosen Florida (United States) are amongst the confirmed participants, sending their most motivated students to represent their schools at this first international event.

YHS is sponsored by Lausanne Hospitality Consulting (w) and Taj Hotels & Resorts (). The event will be centred around a competition, where groups comprised of students from various participating schools will be solving a creative challenge. The topic will be given by the Jumeirah Group () and will describe a real set of internal challenges. The two days of the YHS event will be organized around the given topic; workshops, activities, panels as well as networking events.

In addition to that, the YHS will welcome key note speakers including Guy Crawford (CEO Jumeirah Group) as well as M. David Cochrane (PDG Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland). The organizing students are part of the Career Club, a student run organization at EHL regrouping members of over 16 nationalities, ensuring the link between the students and the hospitality professionals. The organizing students, together with EHL, are excited in welcoming other hospitality students from around the globe. Industry, press and the general public are welcome to attend the panel presentations, key notes and award ceremony (please see contact details below).
