Inncom Modeva

MODEVA™ is an elegantly designed, easy to use lighting, drape, and amenities control system that provides an unrivaled guestroom management experience; It allows guest control of multiple loads from many locations;

This week INNCOM International unveils its next generation of guestroom controls that takes its popular "Glass Series" to new levels. With an unprecedented MODular design, the guest-facing DEVice boasts heightened functionality and customization to accommodate new construction and retrofit hotel projects with equal ease, and the solutions Artistic look and feel can meet nearly any design requirements conceived for the hotel guestroom.

MODEVA™ will be on display at Booth No. 2251 at the 2010 Hospitality Design Exposition & Conference (HD Expo)) May 19-21 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas.

"Our customers have pushed us to deliver products and systems that give guests memorable, positive experiences without confusing technology," said Rick Quirino, INNCOM President and Chief Operating Officer. "MODEVA™ is our latest creation that brings an unmatched level of design flexibility by using a 'system in a box' approach to guestroom controls. The system provides endless control features and options that interoperate seamlessly with INNCOM’s Integrated Room Automation Systems for an unparalleled energy management and lighting control platform."

For nearly a quarter of a century, Niantic-based INNCOM has developed and manufactured advanced, seamless guestroom control systems designed to enhance guest comfort while increasing hotels’ profitability.

"MODEVA™ is built upon a rich history of 25 years of customer-driven product design," Quirino said. "We have always sought to provide friendly room automation that gives guests a sense of control but also provides the property with a level of automation that reduces energy waste and operational costs.

"When INNCOM first introduced the Glass Series User Interfaces at HD Expo in 2008, we elevated the look, feel and customization of guest-facing room devices to a different level," he said. "The opportunity to have room devices that either blended with the décor or were so distinctive they became accent pieces in the room offered designers a whole new way to think about light switches and thermostats."

MODEVA™ takes the Glass Series to an entirely new category, he said.

System in a Box

In combination with the load assemblies, MODEVA™ consists of user interfaces, low voltage interfaces, wired and wireless communications, dimmers, and wall box switches designed to operate within INNCOM’s Integrated Room Automation System (IRAS). MODEVA™ brings all guestroom control features into a sleekly designed system housed in either a capacitive glass or a more traditional keypad user interface.

The MODEVA™ switch itself contains all of the hardware components (including logic operations, radio communications, and user interface functionality) to operate as a low voltage controls interface within a thin assembly that rests outside of the wall box cavity. This brings an incredible advantage to the MODEVA™ system by allowing it to be decoupled safely from the line power switching and dimming performed by the system’s load assemblies.

"The MODEVA™ line of devices offers the ease of installing load assemblies in the same traditional gang box infrastructure familiar to electrical installers," said Philipp Roosli, INNCOM Chief Technology Officer. "These load assemblies are available in various designs to accommodate relays, triacs and MOSFET platforms. These can be mixed and matched to be installed in double and triple gang boxes. The load assemblies can also be wired with low voltage communication or equipped with wireless transceivers."

Roosli explained that the guest facing user interfaces offer a similar level of flexibility. They can be touch capacitance glass or more traditional keypad interfaces. They can include nightlights with arrays of LED’s, dimmer slide bars and switching capability for lighting, temperature, drapes and guest annunciation.

"This unprecedented level of modularity provides hotel operators the opportunity to future-proof their room automation system," Quirino said. "The guest facing devices can be replaced during a renovation while the load assemblies stay intact in the wall offering a fresh look to the room at a fraction of the cost of a total replacement."
