Corporate travel specialists CT Business Travel are reporting positive increases in sales for the year to date. This certainly reflects the latest revised and much improved forecasts published by The International Air Transport Association (IATA), where it has stated it expects profits for the global airline industry to be in the region of US$2.5bn for 2010.

Mark Kempster, MD of CT Business Travel commented “The recent forecasts published by IATA certainly hold true with our company’s performance for the year to date. The increases we are experiencing are coming from two main sources. Firstly we are witnessing positive signs that business levels for our existing clients are starting to improve. They appear to be more confident and are increasing their budgets and are more willing to commit to business trips and overseas travel; until recently many had severely restricted these types of trips.

In addition, we have had success in the last few months in securing several new clients. Certainly our approach to not tying clients into a contract term is appealing. Given the challenging economic times we’re happy to eliminate that commitment, one that many of our competitors still ask for. Once we have new clients on board we are confident our exceptional service will help retain these clients for a long time to come”.

The company sets itself and its staff incredibly high standards with a huge focus on delivering outstanding customer service. The company’s ethos certainly helped them through the ash cloud crisis which proved to be a very difficult period with staff working well beyond the call of duty; working late in the evenings and throughout the weekends helping clients whose staff were either away on business during the crisis, or helping re-arrange other future bookings.

It would seem the ash cloud crisis has certainly re-enforced and reminded businesses of the value of using travel management services provided by a good corporate travel agency. Many of the business travellers recently affected by the ash cloud have benefited from having a business travel agent who can user their knowledge and expertise to quickly find solutions and make alternative travel plans.
