White Plains, NY – Jan Marie Chesterton, president, New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSH&TA), has been named to the Board of Directors for the International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show® (IHMRS). The next edition of the IHMRS will take place November 13-16, 2010, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Chesterton was named president of NYSH&TA in July 2010. In this role, she spearheads all lobbying efforts, provides leadership for the Association's day-to-day organizational operations and oversees the fulfillment of membership needs.

Prior to this, Chesterton served the Association in several capacities, for more than 13 years. During this time, she was a member of numerous boards - including the International Society of Hospitality Association Executives and Empire State Society of Association Executives - and received several awards and certifications - including the American Hotel & Lodging Association's Most Valuable Membership Award and the Chairman's Cup for Membership Growth and Retention. She is a graduate of Skidmore College.

Following a full-day of conference and networking activities on Saturday, November 13, the IHMRS will feature three full days of exhibits from Sunday, November 14, through Tuesday, November 16. The market presents more than 700 hospitality industry suppliers and attracts approximately 30,000 in total trade attendance.

Held concurrently with the IHMRS, boutique DESIGN New York will feature more than 200 interior product manufacturers of high-end, unique and innovative design products for hospitality, including furniture, lighting, wall coverings, fabric, seating, accessories, artwork, carpet and flooring, materials, bath and spa. Some 3,000 designers, architects, purchasers, and developers are expected to attend this debut event, along with crossover participation from hospitality property owners and operators in attendance at the adjacent IHMRS.
