OMAHA, NEBRASKA – HEDNA, the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association, relaunched its popular HEDNA U educational effort in Omaha, Nebraska on August 19, 2010. HEDNA U is described as one of the best educational products available on electronic distribution.

HEDNA U is designed to educate industry up-and-comers about electronic distribution. The interactive one-day seminar began with a history of electronic distribution followed by sessions on content, system functionality, the Internet and social media.

"The interactive format worked well with good interaction between the students and the presenters," says Keith Cotton of Hotel Booking Solutions and chair of HEDNA's Education Committee. "The students also liked the casual approach and the opportunity to interject comments and ask questions throughout the sessions."

The history and background session was very popular with the students. "People enjoyed learning about the history of electronic distribution. It gave them a perspective on the industry and an understanding about how the industry has evolved," notes Cotton.

There will be two more HEDNA U sessions in 2010 - in Singapore on October 21 and in Fort Worth, Texas on December 6. Details on those two sessions will be forthcoming.

"HEDNA U is a tangible example of HEDNA's commitment to helping those in the electronic distribution industry through further education," says Melanie Ryan, HEDNA president and Orbitz Worldwide. "Education is a key activity for HEDNA. The Association shows its dedication to electronic distribution education with efforts such as HEDNA U as well as our conferences and our library of materials on the HEDNA website."
