Considered one of the most prestigious awards in travel marketing, the deadline to submit entries in The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) 54th annual HSMAI Adrian Awards competition is Sept. 10, 2010.

Hundreds of examples of innovative work in travel advertising, public relations, and digital marketing have already been entered, including in new categories such as Top Loyalty Program Consumer and Loyalty Programs, Best Tradeshow Marketing Campaign, Best Social Media Campaign and Best Mobile Campaign. Additionally, the 54th Adrian Awards marks the inaugural year for entries being considered for the Leader in Sustainable Tourism Award presented in conjunction with National Geographic Traveler.

“Year-in-and-year-out, the HSMAI Adrian Awards is honored to recognize the most innovative, inspiring, and impactful campaigns in our industry,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “We encourage all hospitality and agency professionals to take this opportunity to enter their best work before the September 10 deadline.”

Submitting campaigns for award consideration is easy and done entirely online. To do so, entrants must complete an online statement of communication and submit supporting electronic creative materials. Complete entry requirements can be found at www.adrianawards.com.

The HSMAI Adrian Awards competition is comprised of multiple categories in three entry divisions: advertising, public relations, and digital marketing. Additionally, top achievers will be considered for specialty awards: The DEPARTURES Luxury Marketing Achievement Award, which goes to the best award-winning print advertising campaigns produced for the luxury travel market, and the TRAVELCLICK eMarketer of the Year, which recognizes the best integrated eMarketing program in the hotel industry.

2010 winners will join the ranks of industry heavy-hitters who have proven their creativity drives not only awareness but also bottom line. Included in these ranks are, The San Diego Zoo and its agency, M&C Saatchi, as 2009 “Best of Show” in advertising for creating a pair of computer-generated mammoths living the good life in Southern California circa 12,000 B.C. to launch a new exhibit at the Zoo. Additionally, the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau won a 2009 “Best of Show” in the Web Marketing category for its “Life in a Brown Paper Bag” video and the 2009 Public Relations “Best of Show” winner, Tourism Queensland and its agency, Cummins Nitro, for the “Best Job in the World” campaign.

"We were very honored with the Best of Show in the HSMAI Adrian Awards. Our video project was done in-house and for under $500 illustrating that this competition recognizes the great and productive work being done in the hospitality industry regardless of budget,” said Dale Lockett, President/CEO of the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau.
