HBSi, an IBS Group company, and Genares Worldwide Reservation Services have expanded their relationship to add GDS and Internet/mobile booking engine services to their connectivity offering.

With help from Genares, HBSi now provides hotel companies with connectivity to their most important electronic segments: the GDSs (through which most business travel is booked), the hotels' own booking engine as well as key online travel websites.

HBSi's iDemand Gateway TM platform allows hotels to connect and manage all of their electronic distribution through a single, real time, connection that is directly integrated into their CRS or PMS.

Greg Berman, chief operating officer of HBSi, commented: "For many years, HBSi has delivered real-time connectivity to key leisure channels; now with GDS, IBE, and mobile solutions available, we add even more value to our hotel partners who seek the benefits of centralized channel management and distribution services."

One of the first customers to leverage GDS services is Intrawest, a luxury resort owner and operator based in Vancouver, Canada. Scott Fiegehen, director of distribution for Intrawest, said, "GDS connectivity through HBSi has enabled Intrawest to manage two critical pieces of our distribution with just one connection. With HBSi, we have real-time connectivity to the lion's share of our leisure partners, as well as the ever important GDS segment, which ultimately simplifies and streamlines our processes immensely."

In recent months, GDS connectivity also has been added by Treasure Island as well as others in the Las Vegas market.

Genares and HBSi have worked together since 2007 to provide connectivity to Genares customers. The GDS connectivity via Genares for HBSi customers expands that relationship in a new direction. Additionally, Genares' capabilities through its booking engine include multiple revenue-selling opportunities through its unique functionality, such as mobile, e-marketing and CRM, providing the industry's most comprehensive distribution package.
