The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) is hosting the Digital Marketing Strategy Conference in New York on February 1, 2011. Following the HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala, the HSMAI Digital Marketing Strategy Conference is a unique one-day interactive program featuring thought leaders and subject matter experts in various components of digital marketing.

“The Digital Marketing Strategy Conference is an opportunity for digital marketing professionals to come together to discuss this rapidly evolving area,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “We have brought in key entrepreneurs and thought leaders to ensure that the most creative and innovative information is being shared at this conference, and that attendees walk away with strategies to turn the buzz surrounding digital marketing into business.”

Two keynote speakers will address relevant industry trends at the conference. The first is Peter Shankman who will share his experiences with social and digital media, and introduce attendees to his concept of “The New World of One Screen.” Shankman has an extensive business background, as he is the founder of the blog HelpAReporterOut.com as well as the CEO of the Geek Factory. The second featured speaker is Avinash Kaushik, Analytics Evangelist for Google. Kaushik’s topic of discussion will be “Rethinking Online Analytics: Customer Centric Data Driven Strategies,” focusing on how the “web empowers you to take risk, learn from your mistakes quickly, unearth your competitor's strengths and weaknesses, listen to your customers and understand their behavior like never before.”

Additional topics at the HSMAI Digital Marketing Strategy Conference, which is organized by HSMAI’s Digital Marketing Advisory Board, will include measurement and ROI, selecting and working with an agency, mobile and location-based marketing, social media strategic planning, web analytics and case studies from HSMAI’s Adrian Awards Digital Marketing Award winners. The conference will also include a networking reception.

The event is designed for digital marketing, ecommerce, or distribution management professionals from hotel brands, hotel management companies, hotel ownership groups, destinations, independent hotels and resorts, as well as agencies that provide digital marketing services to hotels and hotel companies.
