About 4.5 percent of the 31,000 hotels evaluated by AAA's formal rating system achieve Four Diamond status. According to AAA, qualifying hotels must be refined and stylish, upscale in all areas, include extensive amenities and feature a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.
In addition, and for the second consecutive year, the Boutique & Lifestyle Lodging Association (BLLA) has named The Iron Horse Hotel Boutique Hotel of the Year. The hotel was chosen for its excellence in six important categories: Design & Architecture, Sustainability, Food & Beverage, Customer Service, Marketing & Sales and Operational Performance. Its owner and creative force behind the hotel, Tim Dixon also received recognition as the BLLA's 2011 Hotelier of the Year.
