The three winning Bournemouth University students, who are in their final year of the BA(Hons) Hospitality Management Degree, attended the Master Innholders Conference held at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane, London following the announcement that their entry on 'Maintaining Sustainable Competitive Advantage for the Hospitality Industry' had been given top spot in the competition.

The topic was set by the Master Innholders and sponsored by the Lancaster Group of Hotels, to challenge final year degree students in the UK and Europe to demonstrate how hotels can best develop sustainable competitive advantage and, as part of their prize, Julian Dombrowsky, Suzanne Parr and Eleanor Moore were given the opportunity to present their winning entry to over 450 top industry professionals who attended the conference

The students joined a number of high profile speakers, including the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Danny Meyer, who complained that the internet has 'disrupted the sanctity of a good idea' and focused on the 'empathetic and bespoke' nature of good hospitality. Other speakers included Ufi Ibrahim, Chief Executive of the British Hospitality Association who spoke about the impact of the Visit Britain funding cuts and Lord Coe, Chairman of the London 2012 Olympic Committee.
