Bob Alter Makes $5,000 Contribution To AH&LEF Annual Giving Campaign
Washington, D.C. – Bob Alter, president, Seaview Investors, contributed $5,000 on behalf of the Alter family to the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF) 2012 Annual Giving Campaign. The Annual Giving Campaign is the Foundation’s yearly key fundraiser that supports its core missions, including providing scholarships to hospitality management students, funding important research in areas such as room tax, energy management, and ADA requirements, as well as promoting hospitality as a career of choice and workforce development initiatives.
Alter is an active member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), serving on its Governmental Affairs and HotelPAC committees, and leading industry lobbying efforts during AH&LA’s annual Legislative Action Summit. This marks Alter’s fifth consecutive personal gift at the $5,000 level.
“It is leaders like Bob who set the standard in providing generous funding to promote the industry’s future growth,” said AH&LEF President/COO Joori Jeon. “Our Annual Giving Campaign is off to a strong start and we are hopeful that with the industry’s support, we’ll have a record-breaking year.”
AH&LEF is the not-for-profit affiliate of AH&LA and is funded solely by charitable donations from progressive hospitality leaders and companies within the industry. In 2011, AH&LEF disbursed $886,000 to prepare promising college students for a career in hospitality, to attract and retain talented industry professionals, and to fund valuable research for the industry. Since the Foundation’s inception, more than $15 million has been distributed through its scholarship, education, outreach, and research programs.
