The Rising Star Award, was created by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) in collaboration with Burba Hotel Network (BHN) to recognize emerging leaders in the hospitality industry. The 2012 award was presented to Maxence Bonnamain, Director of Operations at Las Casitas Villages, at the recent Caribbean Hotel Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) in Miami Beach, Florida.

The Rising Star Award criteria requires that a nominee be 35 years of age or under, currently working and living in the Caribbean and have a minimum of two years hospitality experience living and working in the Caribbean. A panel of judges comprised of hotel industry leaders and a screening committee selected Bonnamain as the 2012 winner.

Lori Raleigh, Executive Director of the ISHC, noted, "Maxence has been lauded for his tremendous work ethic, his dedication to customer service and his commitment in motivating his employees made him a standout candidate and we are proud to award him this prestigious honor."

"Tourism is such a vital component of the national economies throughout the Caribbean, so to honor the "best-of-the-best" seems like one very appropriate contribution we can make towards the future of the region." said Jim Burba, President of BHN.
