Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide continues its strategy to unload assets. Not a week apart in August, the Stamford, Conn.-based hotel operator parted with two W Hotels, the 520-room W Chicago – Lakeshore and the 258-room W Los Angeles – Westwood, for $126 million (approximately $242,000 per key) and $125 million (approximately $484,000 per key), respectively. The W Chicago – Lakeshore was acquired by Chesapeake Lodging Trust, while the W Los Angeles – Westwood was purchased by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust.
