Best Western International NEW

Best Western International – the World’s Largest Hotel Chain® – is on track to quintuple its portfolio in Indonesia with the opening of 25 new hotels in the next three years. The new developments, which encompass nine unique destinations and two of Best Western's brand tiers - midscale BEST WESTERN and luxury BEST WESTERN PREMIER - will expand the company's nationwide inventory from just over 600 rooms today to almost 3,500 by the beginning of 2015.

“With the world’s fourth-largest population, a burgeoning middle class and an increased focus on both domestic and inbound tourism, Indonesia is one of the most exciting hotel markets in the world today,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western International’s Vice President International Operations – Asia & the Middle East.

“As the ‘World’s Largest Hotel Chain’, Best Western is in a perfect position to capitalize on the huge potential this country has to offer, providing our Indonesian and international guests the same levels of comfort, convenience and value-for-money enjoyed by our customers around the world,” Mr. de Souza added.

Currently, Best Western operates three hotels on the resort island of Bali, a city hotel in Jakarta and a stunning BEST WESTERN PREMIER hotel in Solo. By the end of 2012 this portfolio is expected to increase to six hotels with the addition of a first property in Semarang, the 259-room BEST WESTERN Star Hotel.

Then in 2013 Best Western's Indonesian expansion will really gather pace with the opening of no fewer than 11 hotels. Jakarta will be a key growth area with the addition of four new properties: BEST WESTERN Hariston, BEST WESTERN Serpong, BEST WESTERN Mall of Indonesia and BEST WESTERN Mansion Satrio in Jakarta Golden Triangle.

Also in 2013, BEST WESTERN PREMIER Candi in Semarang and BEST WESTERN Sun Heritage in Bali will grow the collections in these two destinations, while Best Western will also debut in five new Indonesian markets - Banjarmasin, Makassar, Bogor, Palu and Malang. A new level of luxury will also arrive in the Indonesian capital with the launch of the BEST WESTERN PREMIER The Bellevue in South Jakarta.

Then in 2014, Best Western’s Indonesian expansion will continue with the opening of new hotels in Bandung, Manado, Samarinda, Balikpapan and Pontianak.

Finally in early 2015, Best Western will debut in Surabaya and add a second hotel in Solo.
