The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA)—the voice of the global business travel industry—today announced high-tech entrepreneur and best-selling author Michael Saylor as a keynote speaker at the prestigious GBTA Masters Program being held at the Mandarin Hotel in Washington, D.C., February 20-21, 2013.

Saylor is the chief executive officer, chairman of the board and founder of the publicly traded company MicroStrategy. Founded in 1989, MicroStrategy is a leading global provider of enterprise software platforms for business, mobile and social intelligence applications. Saylor holds degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Science, Technology and Society.

Under Saylor's leadership, MicroStrategy has exceeded expectations. Since 1998, MicroStrategy's annual revenues have grown from $96 million to $351 million. The company and its leadership have received numerous awards and accolades over the years, including a spot on the Forbes 200 Best Small Companies.

In June 2012, Saylor published his first book, The Mobile Wave: How Mobile Intelligence Will Change Everything, a ground-breaking analysis of the impact of mobile intelligence. His book argues that the changes brought about by mobile computing are so far-reaching and widespread that it's nearly impossible for us to comprehend, even though we are fully immersed in it.

"GBTA is extremely pleased to have Michael Saylor join as a keynote speaker for the 2013 Masters Program. Saylor is a brilliant visionary who has helped transform our digital world. It is work like his that makes business travel so seamlessly possible. Our attendees will benefit from learning and hearing about his journey from a small business entrepreneur to a world-class executive," said Michael W. McCormick, GBTA's executive director and COO.

The Masters Program is an annual event that provides executive-level attendees with the opportunity to hear from some of the most respected world class leaders while learning about the strategies and business philosophies that have made them and their organizations successful.
