Coming into its fourth year, the latest edition of the Young Hoteliers Summit™ is set to welcome major actors of the hospitality industry and young industry talent at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) in March 2013.

Founded by a passionate group of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) students in 2010, the Young Hoteliers Summit is held annually on the EHL campus. It is the first hospitality summit to bring together hospitality leaders and students from top hotel schools around the world in order to tackle current and future challenges relating to employment and careers, and to act towards improving professional opportunities for young talents in the industry.

The fourth edition of the Young Hoteliers Summit™ will be held from 18th to 20th March 2013 at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and features an inspiring line up of professionals, international hospitality students, new workshops and interactive panels.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts will be the official Challenge Provider 2013.

Ted Teng, Chief Executive Officer and President at The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. will be the first keynote speaker.

Peter Burwash, world renowned leadership guru will also join to exchange with students.

Dr. Ray F. Iunius, Director of Business Development and Marketing at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne comments: “As an educational institution which aims to develop new talents, we are impressed and proud of the continuing success of this initiative and that of EHL students. It is vivid proof of their capacity to apply their knowledge to real- life projects. Through the organisation of YHS, our students have proven their ability to develop their leadership skills, work together and get major industry players interested in issues that are important to them”.

Since its launch the number of hospitality schools participating in YHS has continued to rise, from 7 schools in 2010 to 20 schools from around the world in 2013. The summit has welcomed well renowned partners such as Hyatt, Four Seasons and Expedia, and the presence of famous speakers from the industry such as Guy Crawford (CEO, Jumeirah Group), Kurt Ritter (President & CEO, The Rezidor Hotel Group) and Jean-Claude Biver (Hublot Watches) makes YHS an increasingly important event for the hospitality industry today.

Each year, the summit announces the key “YHS Rankings” with the support of Qualtrics leading research suite. These rankings reveal the top hotel companies in terms of employment and recruitment according to 1,800 hospitality students from 45 top hospitality management schools worldwide. In 2012, the summit saw 54 delegates from 19 hospitality schools from across the globe join forces with industry leaders to co- develop actionable proposals for the future of hospitality, with the support of key industry players such as Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Expedia.

The summit has established itself as a human resources platform for networking, interacting and exchanging ideas in order to improve professional opportunities for hospitality actors.
