Thompson Hotels announces October 2013 as the opening of its 11th property, Thompson Chicago, as the company continues to expand its global portfolio of lifestyle hotels. The first phase of the hotel opening will occur in October 2013 with reservations being accepted as of October 1 and the following phases rolling out through the end of the year. Thompson Chicago will offer its savvy clientele sophisticated comforts of a home-away-from-home, joined by personalized service provided by the hotel's highly trained and committed staff. Located in the heart of Chicago's famed Gold Coast, the 247-room hotel offers unobstructed city views of Lake Michigan and is just steps from glamorous Michigan Avenue, Oak Street boutiques and downtown's finest dining and nightlife destinations.

An all-star team of talent from Chicago and abroad has been assembled to bring the

vision to life for Thompson Chicago. To design the space, the brand tapped award- winning British designer Tara Bernerd, who is also responsible for creating interiors for Thompson's London property, Belgraves. Bernerd brings a strong contemporary approach that is ever-current and renowned for creating warmth and atmosphere. The interiors of Thompson Chicago, including the guest rooms, public spaces and restaurant, will incorporate her signature style, marked by intelligent space planning and a strong emphasis on texture and bold colors.

One Off Hospitality Group, the restaurant group behind critically acclaimed Chicago

restaurants Blackbird, avec, The Publican, Big Star, The Violet Hour and, most recently, Publican Quality Meats, will open NICO at the hotel. NICO will serve Italian cuisine in a rustic yet elegant setting, with a focus on fresh pastas that are made daily and sourcing the finest seasonal seafood to craft dishes that are unconventionally creative and inspired by Italian traditions.
