Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is continuing the expansion of its portfolio in the Middle East with the opening of Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa. This new resort joins the four existing Anantara properties in Abu Dhabi and a further two will be added to the portfolio in the region by early 2014, including the first property in Qatar, which represents a new country of operation.

Dillip Rajakarier, chief executive, Minor Hotel Group, Anantara's owning company, commented: "We are very excited to open our first Anantara in Dubai, a key strategic location for the brand. This is the fourth addition to Anantara's portfolio so far this year, with a further three properties to be added before the end of the year, including in two new countries, Cambodia and Mozambique.

"We are especially excited about our continued expansion in the Middle East region, which is a key area of focus both for Anantara and other brands within Minor Hotel Group."

Offering a unique kind of urban escape, Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa is a luxury beach resort that is quite unlike any other.

Enviably positioned on the eastern crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah, a manmade island dubbed the 'Eighth Wonder of the World', the new resort is conveniently situated within a 45 minute drive from Dubai International Airport, with a wide range of exciting attractions nearby.

Set amid lush landscaping and carefully designed to maximise privacy, 293 luxurious guest rooms, suites and pool villas are characterized by Asian inspired luxury, tasteful furnishings and spectacular views of the lagoons or the Palm.

The impressive choice of private villas includes Beach Pool Villas, each with a personal infinity pool, and families and friends traveling together will find that the Anantara Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas provide the epitome of luxury, space and style.

In addition the resort offers the Middle East's first Over Water Villas with most featuring glass viewing panels revealing underwater glimpses of the Arabian Sea.

Lazy days can be enjoyed on Anantara's 400 meter long private beach, as well as at three winding lagoon pools and a 50-metre shoreline infinity pool which looks out across the Palm.

Making the most of the exotic climate, a variety of water sports includes kayaking, wake boarding and paddle boarding, as well as diving and snorkelling adventures.

Two well-equipped gyms and two tennis courts extend the choice of energizing leisure pursuits.
