Today, Jerry Trieber, CPA, CHAE, CFE, CFF, CGMA officially starts his term as Global President for Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), with a directive to lead the association in carrying out its strategic goals. Trieber is regional director of accounting for Crestline Hotels and Resorts based out of Virginia. A member for 16 years, Trieber was recently honored at the HFTP Annual Convention & Tradeshow this past October in Dallas, Texas.

"I am looking forward to working with the Global Board of Directors and Executive Committee to continue 'to lead and advance the hospitality profession by providing a forum for continuous learning and knowledge sharing,' the core purpose of HFTP," said Trieber. "During the past several years, HFTP has continued to increase its global footprint; I am looking forward to seeing HFTP continue to grow globally, to increase our membership, and to provide educational and networking opportunities second to none to the global hospitality industry."

As part of his service, Trieber will represent HFTP at industry events and also meet with HFTP members at chapter meetings and educational conferences in the United States and across the globe. His first appearances as president will take place this month at the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) Fall Conference and International Hotel Motel and Restaurant Show (IHM&RS) in New York City on November 8-12. Trieber will also represent HFTP at the HOSPACE 2013 Annual Conference and Exposition November 21 at Sofitel London Heathrow, Terminal 5 in London.

Regarded as an industry expert, Trieber is a frequent speaker at the HFTP Annual Convention and Tradeshow, HFTP Club and Hotel Controller Conferences, the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), as well as at various HFTP chapter meetings and regional conferences. In addition, Treiber has authored articles for HFTP'sThe Bottomlinemagazine and presents webinars through HFTP's ProLinks. Trieber has also been a featured speaker at the Annual Conference of the National Golf Course Owners Association and the Golf Industry Show. Trieber is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
