Opened in 1999 by Benardus Pon as a European-style bespoke retreat, the award-winning Lodge will retain its name, as a new era in upgrades and expansion are ushered in. Included in the sale is the 26-acre Lodge and facilities, award-winning 60-seat Marinus restaurant under chef Cal Stamenov, Wicket's Bistro and The Spa at Bernardus Lodge. Bernardus Vineyard and Winery and Bernardus Winery Tasting Room in Carmel Valley are not included in the sale and will continue to operate under Mr. Pon's management team. As agreed to in the sale, the majority of Bernardus Lodge employees will be retained as well as Chef Stamenov and team.
