Thomas Magnuson, CEO of Magnuson Worldwide, has been named to introduce Robert

Gates, former CIA chief and US Secretary of Defense as the keynote speaker at the upcoming Asian American hotel owners annual convention to be held March 19-22 at the Pennsylvania convention center in Philadelphia PA.

With more than 12,000 members owning over 20,000 hotels totalling $128 billion in property value, the Asian American hotel owners association is the largest owner bloc in the global hospitality industry.

Robert Gates served as Secretary of Defense from 2006 to 2011 under both President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama, and is the only Secretary of Defense in American history to be asked to remain in that office by a newly-elected president. Gates joined the Central Intelligence Agency in 1966 and spent 27 years as an intelligence professional; he is the only career officer in CIA history to rise from entry-level employee to director.
