Educational Institute’s Dubai Partner Earns Certified Guest Service Partner Designation
The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) has awarded the designation of Certified Guest Service Partner to Training Solutions/Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), EI's Hospitality Education Partner (HEP) in Dubai, U.A.E. They are the first EI partner in the Middle East to achieve this designation. To earn the award, DTCM's staff all completed EI's Guest Service Gold® training and passed the Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP®) examination.
Service Gold and CGSP to various hospitality and tourism sectors in the U.A.E. for a couple of years. Clients who have received the training include: Emaar Hospitality, Burj Khalifa, and employees from various hotels in Ras al Khaimah (including the Waldorf- Astoria).
"We received a lot of positive feedback from hotels about the CGSP program. They told us they saw a 180-degree change in their employees' performance and attitudes," said Prof. I.S. Mirza, CHE, senior trainer. "When our staff went through the program themselves, they felt the same way. They said they should have done the course long ago."
Mirza noted that the guest service elements presented in the Guest Service Gold training help the staff to perform their jobs more efficiently and to find new ways to satisfy their customers.
"It made us realize the difference between serving and caring," he said. "We willstrongly recommend this course to all hospitality and tourism sectors in the U.A.E."
In addition to earning the CGSP designation, several of the senior-level directorsat DTCM were selected to complete EI's 12-course hospitality management curriculum. Seven of the 12 participants have recently completed the program and earned their EI diploma. They include: Mr. Ibrahim Yaqoot, Mr. Samy Taha, Mr. Satish Bhaskaran, Mr. Ahmed Alfeel, Mr. Jamal J. AlFalasi, Mr. Khalid A. Agroobi, and Ms. Aisha M. Salem. Mirza noted that some of the directors at the JW Marriott Hotel are also going through the 12-course program, which is receiving a lot of attention and inquiry from DTCM's hospitality clients, along with the CGSP.
