A 199 bedroom Holiday Inn Express hotel will open at Manchester Airport later this month, following an investment by owner, MAG Property. The former Travelodge hotel, located one mile from the UK's third largest airport, has undergone an extensive refurbishment, managed by leading UK hotel management firm, Redefine|BDL Hotels.

Due to open its doors in late March, the Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport will cater primarily for the airport's 20 million annual passengers.

John Atkins, MAG Property Director, said: "The new Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport is a welcome addition to our hotel portfolio and will further strengthen our offering at our UK airports.

"With such a well-placed location next to one of the world's best connected airports, we have high hopes the hotel will offer customers the perfect mix of convenience and affordability. Passenger numbers continue to rise and we welcome even more new airlines and routes this summer, so this additional capacity will help to cater for the travelling public."

Ross Morrow, Chief Technical Officer at Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: "The redevelopment, refurbishment and rebranding of the hotel has been a very smooth process, project managed from start to finish by our specialist internal team. We are confident the Holiday Inn Express will operate successfully from Manchester."

The hotel will be the largest of 18 Holiday Inn Express hotels operated by Redefine|BDL Hotels.

Situated just off the M56, the hotel will employ 26 full and part-time members of staff and will offer guests a range of amenities including free Wi-Fi and free Express Star Breakfast.
