  • Every evening, the venue will project the Ibizan sunset on the biggest screen in Mallorca
  • "Café del Mar – Calviá Beach" will open this Friday, April 18, and will be officially inaugurated in early May

For 34 years, the Cafe del Mar has been creating a sensory world full of magic on the island of Ibiza.

The brand has already made the sunset a ritual in the five continents, and will now open a new venue on Mallorca, in Magaluf, one of the most beautiful beaches on the southwest coast.

Meliá Hotels International and the Café del Mar Group have reached an agreement to open the first

Café del Mar in Mallorca on the terrace next to the Sol Wave House hotel, complementing the superior quality hotel and leisure facilities within the Calvià Beach project to reposition Magaluf. In addition to the Café del Mar, the new "golden mile" on the seafront offers exclusive hotels such as the new ME Mallorca and the vibrant Sol Wave House, with its innovative artificial wave machines, unique in Europe, plus exclusive beach clubs and restaurants, and a dock for yachts.

The renovation of the beachfront will be complemented this year by an outstanding pedestrianised area

parallel to the beachfront to be developed by the Balearic Islands authorities and Calvià City Hall to further improve the quality of tourism and the social environment, and also satisfy a more diverse visitor base and generate higher profitability for the area.

The "Café del Mar" brand atmosphere, its unique music and "style of feeling and living" is present in

places as varied and unique as Singapore or Santo Domingo, each with their own particular characteristics that set it apart from the rest. Café del Mar – Calviá Beach will operate as a beach club until 6pm in the evening, organizing pool parties between 2 and 4pm in the afternoon, and with spectacular Asian food. From 6pm onwards it will open as a club lounge, with the attractions of a privileged beachfront location, chill -out music, and a live broadcast of the sunset on a huge screen installed on its terrace.

In addition to the Café del Mar, the huge terrace of Wave House by the sea will offer options like the

new and high quality American style burger restaurant "Surf Shack"; the "Banzai", with a healthy menu of juices and smoothies; and "Mumm Champagne & Sushi Bar", which will offer an exquisite combination of champagne and Asian food prepared by specialized chefs trained in Asia.
