London – Paris is the most popular overseas destination for UK travellers this summer, according to new data from hotel comparison website trivago.co.uk. Based on searches made between 1st January and 15th June for travel during July and August 2014, London is unsurprisingly the most popular national destination, followed by Edinburgh – no doubt due to the Fringe Festival in August. The cheapest destinations can be found in India and Southeast Asia, with only one European destination (Ravda in Bulgaria) making the top ten cheapest list. Switzerland is the most expensive country to visit during the next two months, with four destinations in the ten most expensive list. Concerning UK travel habits, Brits tend to start researching their holiday early and spend more than the global average on their hotel stay.
