Imagine the hotel you're staying at being able to pinpoint your location and send you a message about a deal at the spa. That's exactly what Marriott International is starting to do today with the introduction of LocalPerks, a new feature within its Rewards program. Participating Marriott hotels are using iBeacon technology to communicate with their guests' mobile devices and figure out where they are. They can then send push notifications about offers to the mobile device based on a guest's precise location within the property.
