G6 Hospitality, known for its iconic economy lodging brands, Motel 6 and Studio 6 in the U.S. and Canada, is hosting its annual convention at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Hawaii, bringing together thousands of its franchisees and corporate representatives from the U.S. and Canada.

The convention kicked off on Monday, September 29, with a "Franchise Recognition Ceremony" where Jim Amorosia, G6 Hospitality President and CEO, addressed the attendees with a warm and welcoming message. "This is an exciting time for Motel 6 and Studio 6. We are growing faster than any other economy chain and becoming a fully balanced, owned and franchised enterprise devoted to a Heart for Service."

In accordance with the theme of the conference, "Accelerate," Amorosia emphasized the need to continue to focus on franchise development while enhancing the customer's experience.

During the celebratory event, Dean Savas, Executive Vice President of Franchise and International Development, announced the Franchisee of the Year Award, recognizing franchisees for Motel 6 and Studio 6 that excelled in operational performance, particularly in the areas of RevPAR, quality and guest satisfaction.

In addition to the Franchisee of the Year Award, G6 Hospitality also acknowledged other outstanding franchisees in the following categories.

"In addition to our renovation plans, we are excited to see our company expanding its reach beyond the U.S. and Canada and into Latin America, where we are expecting to sign area development agreements to build multiple properties starting in Mexico."

Since it was acquired by Blackstone Group in October 2012, G6 has been heavily focused on growth and expansion of its network through franchise relations, improvements within its digital ecosystem, and an aggressive renovation plan, which features an all-new, modern room design that is not only more aesthetic, but also more functional and energy efficient. The annual brand convention runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 2, 2014, and will feature renowned keynote speakers, a unique panel of industry experts, specialized training sessions, and the attendance of several special guests.
