Boutique Design New York (BDNY)

Boutique Design New York (BDNY), the specialized trade fair and conference serving the hospitality design industry, drew more than 5,000 attendees to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center for its fifth run, November 9-10, charting a 21% increase in attendance year-over-year.

Ranked #1 in Trade Show Executive's 50 Fastest-Growing Shows of 2013, BDNY has seen double-digit growth each year since its 2010 debut. Exhibitor/sponsor participation increased by 14% for the 2014 trade fair, selling out an expanded 66,000 square feet of exhibit space two months prior to the event.

"The response to the BDNY concept has been phenomenal," said Michelle Finn, president of Hospitality Media Group (HMG), which produces BDNY and the co-located International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show® (IHMRS), as well as BDNY's sister trade fair BDwest, held each spring on the West Coast. "The creative caliber of products displayed, the depth and breadth of the BD conference program, the perennial wealth of inspiration that is New York City—it's a blend of experiences that resonates with the hospitality design community. That it coincides with the Gold Key Awards is icing on the cake."

Exhibitor Deborah Herman, Owner & President of Miami, FL-based Fabric Innovations, reported strong attendee participation for both days of the trade fair. "The traffic at BDNY was off the charts! Just an amazing, slammed VIP haze of buyers," she said.

Linda Ellsworth, Executive VP, Architecture & Interiors at St. Louis, MO-based Kuhlmann design Group, was among those buyers. "I was very impressed with the freshness and visual presentation of the trade fair floor," she said. "The seminars I attended were engaging and well presented. I left New York and BDNY feeling creatively inspired!"

The two-day event also featured: six Designed Spaces for networking on the BDNY exhibit floor, each created by a leading hospitality design firm using exhibitor and sponsor product; a conference program with 25 sessions (10 accredited with the AIA and IDCEC) and 90+ speakers from across the industry spectrum; and exclusive social events including the BDNY Opening Reception held at NYC's Vermilion restaurant & bar and the 34th Gold Key Awards Gala held at Mandarin Oriental New York.

BDNY returns to New York City's Javits Center for its sixth annual East Coast trade fair, November 8-9, 2015. Details about exhibitors, sessions, speakers and social events—as well as attendee registration and exhibitor information—will be available at bdny.com.
