DENVER (Feb. 15, 2016) – Miraval Group today announced the appointment of Sue Adkins, a 17-year veteran of the company's flagship resort in Arizona, as vice president to lead program development companywide, notably in support of the company's initiative to add full-service Miraval resorts in key destination markets and Miraval Life in Balance Spas in submarkets.

In her new role, she reports to Steven A. Rudnitsky, Miraval Group president & chief executive officer.

Adkins previously served Miraval Tucson Resort & Spa as director of programs and assistant program director. In those roles, she managed daily operations of the resort's programs, including wellness counseling, nutrition, exercise physiology, integrative wellness, equine, outdoor adventure, yoga and meditation, fitness and arts and education.

From 1991 to 1999, she worked in sales, operations, reservations, front office and rooms management for Tucson-area hotels including the Sheraton Tucson Hotel & Suites, Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa and Clarion Hotel and Conference Center – Tucson Airport.

Adkins was the volunteer director of Alaskan Malamute Rescue of Arizona from 1998 to 2012, overseeing other volunteers, the organization's finances, canine training, adoptions and home visits. She studied nursing at Pima Community College, Tucson.
