If you know the difference between Hyatt House, Hyatt Place, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara, stop reading now. I am guessing Hyatt Residence Club could be fractional ownership, or then again, they could be extended stay properties, as is Marriott International’s Residence Inn.

According to a report last April in travel intelligence website Skift, the 10 largest hotel groups own 113 different brands, 31 of which had launched in the previous decade. And the downpour of new logos isn’t letting up. Earlier this week, Hyatt Hotels Corporation launched The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, which is for independent “upper-upscale and luxury” properties. It is a brand for hotels that don’t fit within a brand. Among recent launches, the Chicago-based company joins Starwood Hotels & Resorts, which added Tribute Portfolio and more recently Hilton Worldwide, which launched Tru in January.
