Curio – A Collection by Hilton

Following a multimillion dollar renovation, Redmont Hotel Birmingham – a historic hotel with a storied past dating back more than 90 years – has joined Curio – A Collection by Hilton as the brand's second hotel in Alabama following the recent opening of The Admiral Hotel Mobile. As Hilton Worldwide's rapidly-expanding global collection of distinctive upscale and luxury hotels, Curio caters to passionate travelers seeking local discovery and authentic experiences. The hotel features state-of-the-art technology and amenities, while retaining the style and glamour of the hotel's 1920s roots, allowing guests to enjoy old world charm in the heart of downtown Birmingham.

"We're thrilled to add this boutique hotel – celebrated for its original details, art deco design and local artwork – to our growing collection," said Dianna Vaughan, global head, Curio – A Collection by Hilton. "This hotel beautifully mixes local history with modern upscale décor and amenities, which are underscored by its incredible location in the great city of Birmingham."

First opened in 1925, the hotel offered distinguishing features for its time, including private baths, chilled running water and ceiling fans. Today, guests at Redmont Hotel Birmingham, Curio Collection by Hilton can enjoy the hotel's beautifully maintained original details including vaulted ceilings, a custom 10-foot crystal chandelier and an expansive staircase featuring marble steps with the original iron handrail.

The hotel – managed by Rhaglan Hospitality LLC and owned by Bayshore Redmont Inc. – is on the National Register of Historic Places and features 120 renovated guest rooms designed for today's modern traveler. This includes complimentary Wi-Fi, an ergonomic work space, a 40″ HDTV and a Keurig coffeemaker with gourmet coffee and tea. For guests looking for a more sumptuous stay, Redmont Hotel Birmingham offers 11 suites and a lavish presidential suite.

Featuring jewel-toned finishes throughout the guest room furnishings – accompanied by marble-clad baths – Redmont Hotel Birmingham presents a modern, luxurious feel with a nod to its proud past. Other hotel highlights include a 24-hour business center and a 24-hour fitness center with state-of-the-art BH equipment. For guests looking to refresh and rejuvenate, the hotel offers in-room customized massages and facials.

"Our hotel offers convenience, history and glamour, all with the quiet reassurance of the iconic Hilton name that sets us a step above other offerings in the market," said Joe White, president, Rhaglan Hospitality LLC. "The Birmingham market is ever-growing, and we look forward to welcoming guests at our deeply-rooted historical, boutique property just steps from the Theatre District and some of the best restaurants Birmingham has to offer."

With Birmingham now ranked No. 1 on America's Next Hot Food Cities list by Zagat, Redmont Hotel Birmingham is primed to quickly become a go-to dining destination. Harvest, the concept of local Chef Eric Rivera, is an upscale restaurant open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner that features farm-to-table cuisine and brings in produce from local farms to create modern dishes with heavy Italian accents. Specialty dishes include Lamb Shank Pie with a rosemary crust served with Tuscan white beans and root vegetables.

For those seeking a quick bite or lighter options, 2101 Café is open daily for breakfast and lunch and serves locally-brewed coffee from Revelator Coffee Company – complete with a special blend that is unique to the hotel. Other specialties include salads, paninis and in-house pastries.

Named after Red Mountain, a local adventure hotspot known for its hiking trails and zip lining, Redmont Hotel Birmingham illustrates what the Curio brand stands for: meeting travelers' desire for local discovery and authentic experiences. The hotel is near major cultural and entertainment attractions including the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, Alabama Ballet, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Zoo and award-winning restaurants.
