Berlin – Among the core activities of SnapShot GmbH, educational programs play an important role for fostering industry growth. A new short course on hotel revenue management the company planned for May 11th to 12th, 2016, at the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK, will generate a better understanding of strategic decision making in a hotel environment and the impact on business performance. Professor Graham Miller, who is head of the university's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management School, had this to say about the new courses:

"We are very excited about these new courses as a meaningful step toward higher education and business accepting respective roles for sustainability. Ongoing training at the university level, with businesses like SnapShot serving a practical R&D role, will lead to more perfect solutions down the road."

The course aims to introduce a collaborative approach to Demand Management, focused on:

  • The evolution of revenue management;
  • Market segmentation;
  • Distribution/transaction costs;
  • Pricing, demand and value;
  • Inventory control;
  • Hotel investment decisions – market analysis;
  • KPIs and benchmarking;

The class will be conducted by Sylvia Ganbert, Teaching Fellow at the University of Surrey; and Janel Clark, Head of Consultancy and Education at SnapShot; both experts in revenue management.

"Sylvia and Janel are perfectly placed to provide sound teaching, demonstrating first-hand experience and an understanding of current challenges and developments in the area of revenue management," said Dr. Stefan Tweraser, CEO of SnapShot GmbH.
