ATLANTA -- On the heels of its annual Women's Conference last month in Baltimore, the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) has been awarded the Eidyia Award by the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) Hygieia Network™.

The award goes to "an individual or company/organization that have [sic] been instrumental in implementing programs that provide educational/professional opportunities for women professionals in all levels in the cleaning industry." Winners are chosen by an independent panel of judges.

"AAHOA has demonstrated a clear vision and a determination to help women in the hospitality sector develop their skills and competencies," said Hygieia Network™ founder Dr. Ilham Kadri. "They understand that education is the best way for their members to reach prosperity."

Dr. Kadri founded Hygieia Network™ in 2014 with other women leaders to combat illiteracy, build a professional curriculum for cleaning-industry employees, and lend prestige to the cleaning industry itself.

AAHOA Secretary and Female Director at Large (Eastern Division) Jagruti Panwala accepted the award on AAHOA's behalf at the ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America show last night in Chicago.

"To be recognized in this way by Hygieia Network™ is more than an honor; it's clear evidence that AAHOA is a powerful force in the careers of female industry professionals," said Ms. Panwala. "We have worked incredibly hard to offer first-rate educational opportunities for women hoteliers and are proud to be counted among Eidyia Award recipients."
